How we publish your website
Publishing makes approved website work available at the intended public address. It is not always an upload of files: the method depends on the website and the service you bought. A small edit on your current platform and a managed rebuild have different release steps.
Before you start
- An agreed scope and a clear decision about whether hosting stays or moves.
- Approved content, appropriate website access and the person who can approve publication.
- Your account inventory if the change affects hosting, domain settings or email.
What to do
For one-off work, keep the existing platform
The listed task is carried out through the supported controls available on your current website. Publishing may use that platform’s editor or release process. A one-off purchase does not create a new hosting subscription or give PresGro ownership of your account.
For managed work, agree the destination
Refresh includes a supported move for a compatible website; Rebuild provides a new brochure website. We identify the intended live address and the relevant access before changing it. Domain ownership stays with you, and unrelated email settings need to be considered.
Approve what is going live
Review the first version and provide feedback within the agreed revision scope. Website launch follows your approval. A preview link is not evidence that your main public address has changed, and the first-version target is not an unconditional live-launch deadline.
Check the published result
Once publication takes place, check the public address and the purchased outcome. Relevant checks may include page presentation, links and an authorised form-delivery test. If DNS changes or provider dependencies are involved, they may add time beyond the preparation of the website itself.
What to check
- The approved work appears at the intended public address.
- Important contact routes and relevant mobile layouts have been checked.
- Any remaining provider dependency or follow-up is clearly identified.
