Prepare a website brief for your café
A useful café brief tells us what a visitor needs before choosing to visit: what you serve, when you open, where you are and whether they need to book. Gather one approved set of facts instead of sending conflicting menus and old social posts.
Before you start
- Your current website address and the service or plan you have chosen.
- A current menu or price list, opening hours and any planned holiday changes.
- Approved photographs, logo files and the person authorised to approve the work.
What to do
Set the main action
Tell us whether visitors should find directions, view the menu, call or use an existing booking service. Pick a main action and supply its exact destination. If you need online ordering or a new payment system, flag that before treating it as an ordinary menu update.
Make one menu the source of truth
Send the approved item names, prices and section headings in an editable document where possible. Include only dietary or allergen wording you have verified and want displayed. Mark seasonal items clearly and identify any old downloadable menu that must be replaced.
Check practical visitor information
Confirm the address, telephone number, opening hours and useful access information you can stand behind. For multiple branches, label each one separately. Avoid copying facts from an old directory without checking them; you remain responsible for the accuracy of your business information.
Package the content around the purchased work
Organise the folder by page or task, such as Home, Menu and Visit. Explain what should stay recognisable about your café. A one-off menu update covers one existing page and up to 30 supplied items; a bigger content request needs its scope checked.
What to check
- Prices and hours match the version you intend customers to use.
- You have permission to publish the images and any recognisable customer photographs.
- The booking, telephone and directions destinations are complete and approved.
