Write a clear brief for a small website edit
The most useful edit brief says where the change belongs, what should replace the current content and what should stay untouched. You do not need technical language. A short numbered list is usually clearer than a long conversation with corrections scattered across messages. PresGro’s small-update service covers supplied replacements within your existing layout.
Before you start
- Gather the exact public page links and the final words or images you approve.
- Check the service limit: up to five supplied text or image replacements.
- Choose one person who can approve the final list on behalf of the business.
What to do
Give each change a location
Write the full page address and name the section, such as the opening-hours box near the footer. Include a screenshot if two areas look similar. A screenshot is a location aid; provide replacement text separately so it can be copied accurately.
Supply the exact replacement
Use a simple pattern: current wording, replacement wording, and any date it takes effect. For example, identify Saturday hours explicitly rather than asking to change the weekend. Check spelling, prices, phone numbers and punctuation before approving the list.
Identify images and link destinations
Name the intended image file and describe where it belongs. For a changed link, include the complete destination and a meaningful label. Say whether an existing photograph should be retained elsewhere, and confirm you have permission to use any replacement.
State the acceptance check
Describe the finished outcome: the new opening hours appear on the named page and remain readable on mobile. Submit the approved list through the protected brief after payment. Any later corrections should reference the same order rather than starting a second payment.
What to check
- Each item has one location and one unambiguous approved replacement.
- No request depends on a password, a private customer list or an inaccessible shared folder.
- New pages, new layouts or rewritten copy have not been mixed into a small replacement task.
