Review a Wix page’s basic search settings
A page’s search settings help describe it and control whether it is eligible for indexing. Start with the individual page’s title, description and intended visibility. Wix also provides defaults for groups of pages; editing a group rule can affect far more content than the one page you meant to improve.
Before you start
- Identify the exact page and its main visitor question.
- Write down the business facts and service area you can accurately describe.
- Keep a record of the current title, description, address and visibility setting.
What to do
Choose individual page settings
Use the relevant page’s SEO controls rather than immediately editing defaults for every page type. Confirm the page title or address shown in the panel. Product, blog and ordinary site pages may have different settings, so follow the guide matching your content type.
Write a specific title and description
Describe what somebody will find on this page. For example, a café’s catering page should explain catering, not repeat the homepage’s general welcome. Keep the wording natural and factual; do not add a list of towns where the business does not operate.
Check visibility without exposing private content
A public service page should normally be available for search indexing. A customer record or private draft should not be made public to gain more indexed URLs. Search exclusions are not access protection, so use appropriate page permissions for genuinely private material.
Verify and allow for search processing
Save or publish according to that Wix control and inspect the public page. Check its title and relevant content together. Search engines choose their own displayed snippets and may need time to revisit a page; the dashboard preview is not a guaranteed Google result.
What to check
- The title and description accurately describe this page.
- No unrelated group-wide rule changed accidentally.
- Private material remains protected while useful public content can be discovered.
