Set up a useful Wix mobile action bar
Wix Editor’s Quick Action Bar gives mobile visitors persistent shortcuts such as calling, emailing or opening a useful link. Keep it focused on channels you genuinely monitor. This is a Wix Editor feature; Wix’s current Studio documentation does not offer the same Quick Action Bar element, so do not assume these steps apply to Studio.
Before you start
- Confirm that your site uses Wix Editor and already has or supports the bar.
- Gather the correct public contact details and destination URLs.
- Choose only the actions a mobile visitor is likely to need.
What to do
Find or add the bar
In Wix Editor’s mobile view, Mobile Tools provides the Quick Action Bar option. If a bar is already present, edit that rather than adding competing fixed controls. Check whether an existing chat setup introduced it and which current actions it contains.
Choose a small set of actions
Select the bar and use Set Up Quick Actions to review its entries. A café might prioritise the menu and directions; a trade business might prefer a call route. Do not add every social network simply because an icon is available.
Configure each destination
Open the individual action settings and enter the approved details. For custom links, use the actual public page or document. Give the action a meaningful name and remove obsolete numbers or accounts. The icon alone should not be expected to explain an unfamiliar action.
Check the bottom of the page
Preview and then inspect the published site on a phone. Scroll to the footer and check that prices, privacy links and form buttons are not hidden behind the bar. Check configured numbers before any tap that might initiate a call; only complete tests you have authorised.
What to check
- Every shortcut leads to a monitored or useful destination.
- The bar does not obscure the final page content.
- Other fixed elements do not create overlapping controls.
