Report a mobile layout problem clearly
A useful mobile issue report shows what happened, where it happened and what you expected instead. A screenshot of an overlapping button is helpful, but it becomes much more useful with the page address and steps that caused it. Describe the visible problem first rather than guessing which code or platform setting is responsible.
Before you start
- Open the public page on the phone where you noticed the issue.
- Note the phone model, browser and whether the screen is portrait or landscape.
- Remove private account details, notifications and customer information from any evidence you share.
What to do
Record one reproducible example
Write the full page address and a short sequence, such as open the menu, tap Services, then scroll to the booking panel. Include whether it happens every time. Avoid a broad report that the whole website is broken when only one section is affected.
Capture context and the fault
Take a screenshot that identifies the surrounding section as well as the overlap, overflow or missing control. Record any zoom or enlarged-text setting. These settings can reveal genuine usability problems; resetting them is not a substitute for explaining what you experienced.
Separate layout from behaviour
Say whether the button is hidden, difficult to tap or opens the wrong destination. A visible layout tidy-up and a broken form are different tasks. Note whether the same page also looks wrong on desktop, but do not change live settings while gathering evidence.
Define the finish line
For a focused fix, describe the expected outcome: text fits, the menu remains usable, or the contact button is not covered. PresGro’s mobile tidy-up covers up to three agreed issues on one page. Use an assessment when the cause or scope is uncertain.
What to check
- The report includes a public URL, device information and steps another person can repeat.
- Evidence is free of passwords, customer messages and unrelated personal details.
- The final check uses the original scenario and also checks relevant desktop presentation.
