Share Squarespace contributor access
A Squarespace contributor uses a separate account to work on your website. The owner or an administrator can invite them and choose permissions. Keep ownership with your business, and grant access for the specific page or task rather than treating a content change as a reason to share every account.
Before you start
- Check you are the site owner or have authority to invite a contributor.
- Identify the website address and exactly which content needs changing.
- Check the contributor allowance on your current Squarespace plan without buying an upgrade automatically.
What to do
Choose the relevant site
Open the website that contains the purchased work and its contributor controls. A Squarespace website, a domain-only account and an Acuity subscription can be separate targets. An invitation to one does not necessarily permit editing another.
Agree the editing permissions
Review what the available permissions allow. Content editing may be enough for supplied words and images, while a design change can require more. Ask PresGro to identify any missing permission before expanding access; billing access is not a routine requirement for a page edit.
Send the invitation
Invite info@presgro.com through Squarespace and include the site address in your project brief. Squarespace sends an invitation for the contributor to accept with their own account. Never send your sign-in password, two-factor code or recovery details instead.
Confirm access and remove it when finished
Check whether the invitation was accepted and the relevant content can be edited. If no email arrives, verify the address and invitation status before resending. After accepting a one-off job, remove temporary permissions and keep the handover record.
What to check
- The public site address in the brief matches the site receiving the invitation.
- You retain owner access and your existing subscription remains in your account.
- PresGro can reach the agreed task without unnecessary access to unrelated systems.
