Review your first website draft

Review the first version against your brief and the needs of a visitor, rather than judging every detail at once. A clear, consolidated list helps PresGro make the right changes. It also prevents contradictory instructions from several people creating unnecessary rework.

Before you start

  • The approved brief, current preview link and included revision allowance.
  • One nominated person to combine feedback and approve business facts.
  • A simple list with columns for page, issue, requested change and priority.

What to do

  1. Check the first visitor journey

Start at the homepage and try to understand the business without relying on what you already know. Follow the main contact, booking or service route. Record places where the wording is unclear or the expected next step is difficult to find.

  2. Verify content and important details

Read telephone numbers, addresses, hours, prices and service descriptions carefully. Compare images with the approved selection. Mark factual corrections clearly; these should not get lost among preferences about colours, spacing or the order of otherwise accurate paragraphs.

  3. Make design feedback specific

Give the page address and describe the affected area. Instead of make it pop, explain the problem: the booking button is hard to notice beside this photograph. A screenshot can help, but remove sensitive information and state the result you want.

  4. Submit one agreed list

Combine feedback before sending it and identify the changes that matter most. Refresh and Rebuild both include unlimited pre-launch revisions until you are happy with the agreed website. New features, extra pages or a substantially different direction may change scope and need separate agreement before additional work.

What to check

  • One person has resolved conflicting feedback before it is sent.
  • Every requested change has an identifiable page or component.
  • Corrections, preferences and possible additional work are distinguishable.
