Small website update: preparation and delivery
This task replaces a small set of existing text or images. A useful handover pairs each current item with its approved replacement, so the change can be made accurately without redesigning the page or guessing which version is correct.
What to prepare
- List up to five replacements, with the page address and a clear location for each.
- Supply finished text and the original image files you have permission to publish.
- Identify whether the same item appears in a shared footer or several separate pages.
Delivery and review
Write a before-and-after list
For example, identify the current opening-hours paragraph and provide the complete replacement. If only a sentence changes, include enough surrounding text to locate it. A screenshot can show placement, but editable words are better than asking someone to retype an image.
Keep the existing structure clear
Say which items must stay untouched. Changes are made within the existing layout using supported controls. A request for a new section, freshly written copy or a different design is a scope change, not another text replacement hidden inside the list.
Review the changed areas
Compare the finished page with your approved list on a phone and a desktop. Check punctuation, prices, spelling and image cropping. Use the change record to identify a specific mismatch rather than sending another general request to make everything look better.
What to check
- Every supplied replacement is in the intended place.
- The layout still works around the changed content.
- There is no obsolete second version of the updated information in the agreed areas.
